Enterprise signing uses a P12 certificate generated from an Apple Enterprise developer account to sign apps that aren't on the App Store or are in internal testing. It signs .ipa files (or Xcode source builds); one P12 can sign multiple apps. Enterprise accounts normally require a large company and a long approval wait — so you can let us handle the internal-test distribution for your app.
Apple Enterprise Program →Super signing adds a device's UDID to a personal or company developer account in Apple's backend — only added iPhones/iPads can install. It's device-level controlled and generally more stable than shared enterprise certificates, billed per device.
Apple Developer →TestFlight has internal and external testing. Internal is for developers only; external testing lets your users test the app (requires Apple review, 90-day active window, up to 10,000 users). Users must install the TestFlight app first.

iOS requires apps to be signed by an Apple-authorized certificate before they can be installed on a device. Signing is essentially attaching an "ID" to the IPA telling the system which developer account it comes from and which devices may run it. Apps not on the App Store, in beta, or distributed in small circles need signing to install on real devices.
Pricing depends on the signing method and certificate plan. Indicative: Enterprise Test 29 USDT/mo, Stable 149 USDT/mo, Premium 299 USDT/mo, VIP 449 USDT/mo. Super Signing is per-device; TestFlight is per test slot + review. Early projects can start with basic enterprise signing and upgrade as volume grows.
Enterprise: P12 from an Apple Enterprise account; no UDID collection; flexible volume — best for beta and bulk distribution. Super: personal/company account adding device UDIDs; only added devices install; more stable per device, billed per device. TestFlight: official Apple testing; external test needs Apple review, up to 10,000 users for 90 days, requires TestFlight app. P12 personal: low cost, for small-scale testing.
Revocation means an installed app stops opening because its signing certificate was revoked by Apple, or the system shows "untrusted enterprise developer." It's common in the industry and relates to certificate source and distribution. Handle it by: re-sign with a new cert immediately; upgrade to an independent cert; keep a redundant second method. No provider can guarantee a certificate won't be revoked — judge a provider by response speed and whether re-sign is free.
Three common ways: (1) open the provider's UDID collection link in Safari, install the profile, the page returns the device info; (2) connect the device to a computer and read it via iTunes or a tool; (3) use a self-service guide page generated by the backend. After collection, the provider adds the device and updates the profile.
If untrusted: go to Settings → General → VPN & Device Management, find the enterprise app and trust it. If the profile expired/deleted: re-download the full package. If the device isn't in the UDID list (Super): collect the UDID first. If the package is corrupt: re-download. If OS-incompatible: confirm the minimum iOS version.
In most cases only the IPA is needed — no source code. Enterprise, Super and TestFlight can all re-sign the IPA directly. Source is only needed if you have no IPA and need Xcode packaging. Confirm the package has no hardening/encryption shell that breaks re-signing.
Standard IPA re-signing usually takes from ten minutes to a few hours, depending on package size, repackaging need and queue. Enterprise device add-ons are fastest; Super needs UDID collection; TestFlight involves Apple review (usually 1–2 business days).
After revocation, already-installed devices usually can't open the app — they must re-download the newly signed package and reinstall. Whether user data is kept depends on the app's local storage; cloud sync is recommended to reduce impact.
Personal/company accounts require UDID collection, capped at 100 devices/year per type, and only added devices can install (Super Signing). Enterprise accounts need no UDID and can distribute to any device — suited for beta and scale, but require company qualification and a long approval.
They serve different stages. Test distribution validates functionality on real devices before public release; App Store is the formal public release requiring Apple review. Many teams use enterprise/super signing for fast pre-release validation, then submit to the App Store; projects not planning to list keep using signing.
Re-signing works on the compiled IPA and doesn't touch source code, so there's no path for source leakage at the signing step. IPA resources can technically be unpacked, so obfuscate/sensitive keys before delivery. Ask providers about their package handling and retention policy.
Five angles: transparent public pricing; 24h revocation response and free re-sign; willingness to state revocation is industry-common rather than promising "never"; plans matched to your stage instead of pushing the expensive one; option to try short-term before committing.
Confirm signing method and device count, provide the IPA; after signing we return the package with profile; install on device and trust in Settings. Super Signing needs UDID first. Delivery is usually same-day; confirm re-sign and support SLA before ordering, not just unit price.
TestFlight internal testing up to 100 users, no review; external up to 10,000 users, needs Apple review (usually 1–2 business days). Each build is valid 90 days. Suited for compliant, within-quota formal testing — not for long-term stable distribution or avoiding review.
Depends on scale and stability need. For broad, UDID-free flexible distribution pick Enterprise (independent certs are more stable than shared). For single-device long-term stability accepting per-device billing and UDID collection, pick Super. For high compliance and within official quota, use TestFlight. Important projects can run both in parallel as redundancy.
